WHY EVEREST BASE CAMP IS A MUST-DO TREK?
The Everest Base Camp in Nepal stands tall at 17,598 feet (5,364m), but we’ll delve into its heights later.
The Everest Base Camp is a teahouse trek located in some of the highest villages in the world. This allows you to experience the cultures, traditions, and daily life of the Himalayan communities up close. By staying in Sherpa villages, you’ll learn much about mountain living and how closely connected the people are to the mountains. There are many highlights along the trek, and Kala Patthar is one of them. Standing at 5,500m, it offers an incredible view of Mt. Everest. Overall, the EBC trek is a fantastic opportunity to witness the beauty of the Himalayas, experience the challenge and excitement of the climb, and immerse yourself in the charming culture of Nepal.

HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT TAKE TREK TO EVEREST BASE CAMP?
Everest Base Camp Trek package cost is USD 1440 per per person. The cost includes your hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast, Lodge/Lodge accommodation with meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during trekking / mountain region. Beside that the cost also covers Entrance Fee, TIMS Card Fee and we will provide an English speaking trekking guide and porter (+More details). The trek cost is for a trip of 14 days which starts after arrival in Kathmandu. The trek starts from Lukla Airport to Everest Base Camp and back usually takes around. Some days are short because you need time to get used to the high altitude.
Adding a few extra days to your trip is a good idea. There are amazing views alongside paths that only a few people visit. There some of the most beautiful spots in the Everest area.
Make sure you plan for a few extra days in case of flight delays. Bad weather can often delay flights to and from Lukla, so it’s good to have some extra time in case you need it, especially if you have a flight home to catch.

HOW CHALLENGING IS THE TREK TO EVEREST BASE CAMP?
Physically, the trek to EBC is manageable. There are only a few steep climbs, lasting about an hour each, and most days involve less than four hours of walking. However, the main challenge of the EBC trek is the altitude. Base Camp sits at 5600m (18,373ft), with one or two nights spent above 5000m (16,404ft). As you ascend above 4000m (13,123ft), you’ll likely feel more lethargic and shorter of breath due to the thinner air. Factors include the cold, discomfort, and accumulated fatigue from weeks of walking, and it’s clear why the trek presents a physical challenge.
While you don’t need to be a top athlete, starting a fitness routine in the weeks before your trek is advisable. Being in decent shape will enhance your enjoyment of the journey.

BEST TIME TO TREK EBC
October and November when the weather is optimal and the skies are clear. However, this period is also the busiest. Another good time to trek is from April to early May, during the spring bloom and when expedition traffic adds excitement to the trail.
For fewer crowds but still decent views, consider trekking in December or March, but be sure to pack an extra thermal layer for the colder temperatures.
